NEXUS was involved in this eight-story hotel project from design through construction. The building includes a panelized, opaque curtainwall exterior wall system. A thermal performance analysis of the wall panels was performed using 3D thermal computer modeling to show compliance with Washington State’s Building Energy Code building envelope requirements.

A full envelope detail review was also provided for the building’s owner and architect with specific attention paid to waterproofing and air barrier detailing where the panelized system integrated with the site-built components of the building.

During construction, NEXUS tested the integrated window/wall panel system, and performed site inspections of site-built building envelope elements. NEXUS also performed water infiltration testing on glazing systems, and a whole building air barrier testing was performed to check the quality and integrity of the products and installation.
