NEXUS is a South Sound Building Envelope Consulting firm that works with Architects, Contractors, and Owners to provide durable, energy efficient building envelope solutions. We are a small office of Architects and Building Science Specialists who challenge ourselves to grow in our skills and value a work/life balance. We are seeking a mid-level designer to assist with building envelope detailing in our growing Tacoma office. Building envelope technical experience is a plus but not required, if you are an architect or engineer with an interest in Building Science and are technically minded we can teach you the rest.

 

Our ideal candidate has: 5+ years professional experience; experience with construction detailing; detail oriented; an interest in Building Science and envelope systems; permitting experience; flexibility to work collaboratively in a team environment or independently from start to finish, based on project needs.


Responsibilities Include: 

• Production and coordination of project documents (specifications and drawings)

• Code Review/Permitting

• Construction administration assistance (site inspections and scheduling)

Qualifications:

• A professional degree, either BArch, March, or engineering degree

• 5+ years professional experience in architectural design, envelope design, engineering, or construction

• Building envelope technical experience a plus

• Public and private sector project experience

• Experience producing construction document packages

• Field experience in construction a plus

• Experience leading projects

• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with clients and team members
