Kaiser Permanente - Capitol Hill Campus

NEXUS has provided building enclosure services on the five (5) building Capitol Hill Campus for both Group Health Cooperative and Kaiser Permanente over the last 10 years.

For these existing buildings, NEXUS performed various building enclosure services on an on-call, as-needed basis. Services included, but were not limited to, assessments of the building envelope as a whole, investigations of specific system failures, remediation design, system replacement design, independent technical review(s) of design documents by other architects, and permit/construction documents prepared by NEXUS.

All findings and recommendations were reviewed during follow-up meetings to ensure the client fully understood the solutions available to them and the impact of the findings. In most cases, the recommendations included an evaluation of the options from a cost and life-cycle standpoint to aid in their decision-making.

During construction, NEXUS performed site observation visits verifying installation of various critical enclosure elements related to the thermal/vapor/air barrier. All observations and testing, including infrared thermography, was photo-documented in written reports submitted to the client and discussed with the staff on-site prior to departure to ensure deficiencies are understood and corrected. Running logs of deficiencies and corrections accompany each report.
