Wastewater Treatment Plant Administrative Offices

NEXUS performed an independent technical review (ITR) of the building envelope design for this administrative office located at the Waste Water Treatment plant at Joint Base Lewis McChord.  The review of this 25,512-sf building focused on building envelope design, water and vapor intrusion, as well as thermal imaging.

The wall to roof connections on this building featured several roof outlookers and trusses.  These numerous penetrations made it difficult to seal the air barrier of the building.  As part of the ITR, in-field design changes were recommended to better seal the penetrations.

NEXUS also provided site observation during construction which included detailed reports with photo documentation, along with recommended corrective measures.  Once construction was complete a full building air barrier test was performed with the building performing well within the USACE air leakage requirements.
